Guivo FAQ: Common Questions
What is Guivo?
Guivo is Match-3, but multiplayer. Everyone in the round gets the same board and the same falling pieces for 90 seconds, so the round is decided by your moves, not by luck. Score points to send ice to the other boards, keep your own ice under control and win to put your name on the banner.
Is Guivo free?
Yes. Guivo is free to play in your browser on desktop or mobile. The Android app is free too. There is nothing to buy and no pay-to-win.
Does Guivo have ads?
Minimal ads, never during a round. Nothing interrupts the 90 seconds you are playing.
How does the ice work?
Your points send ice to the other players. Theirs send ice to you. The bar above your board shows how much ice is waiting. It spawns when you move. The more points you have, the more ice you receive, so whoever is ahead takes the most.
Frozen pieces can't be moved but can still be matched. Match next to ice to break it and score bonus points.
What is the Elo ranking?
Elo ranking like chess. After each ranked round you gain rating from the players who finish below you and lose it to the players who finish above you. New players start at 1000 and finishing above a higher-rated player is worth more. There are global and per-country leaderboards, plus a trophy ranking you climb by winning rounds.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the page and play, no login and no signup. You pick a nickname before your first round. Creating an account is still worth it: it is the only way to get your profile and ranking back if you reset your device or change phone.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Guivo runs in any modern mobile browser. You can install it to your home screen or get the Android app on Google Play.
Will it run on an old phone?
Yes. Guivo is built to stay light: small downloads and low network use, so it still plays well on old or cheap phones.
